Solid Cedar Garden Bench

I’m making 2 of these cedar garden benches for Christmas presents. I only have a day or 2 worth of work to do and I’ll be finishing them with a couple of coats of Thompson’s Water Seal for outdoor enjoyment! I don’t plan on staining them since being outside should take care of that all on it’s own.

Finished! I made 2 of these. One for my brother & his family & one for my Mom & Dad. I think they came out pretty good but I would make some adjustments if I were to start over.

Looks very good so far. I have only made one garden bench. I remember it being a glue-up nightmare. I hope you are better at that than me.

stefang: Yup, I agree. It’s a tough project to glue up and I wouldn’t make it quite the same way in the future. But I learned a lot by working with Cedar for the first time and figuring out the assembly process so it’s all good! :)

GrandpaLen: Thanks for the comment! I’m really happy with the style, it was just so hard to assemble by my self. I’ll put some more thought into the project if I decide to make another one.
