Electrical contractor in industry for 47 Yrs. Designed and built fully automatic production machines for various products, the last few being chainlink fence weaving.
They were fun and interesting, but woodworking is way more fun.
Eight years of experience now working wood, and still feel like a beginner with all the various things to learn, cuts to make, tools to use, and types of wood to experience.
I am very glad to be able have a dialog with other woodworkers through this website. The LJs are a great bunch of guys and gals.
What I like best is that it isn't about being best, but about sharing and enjoying each others work and words.

The original raised beds are now at the end of their life. The 1 1/2” thick boards were a mixed bag of a “builders sling” from Dun Lumber. I noticed that the primed cedar facia boards lasted the longest, in fact some of them are ...
Using what I had lying around in my shop I decided to try and get every last grain of dust to my DC before it got me. I cut the top of the bucket off to equal the height I had from the table top to the router table. Then I cut with my jigsaw...
