hello all my shop is in my basement. i was thinking of painting the floor joists which aer exposed and the underlayment which is also exposed. i was wondering if it would reflect anymore light and brighten things up. any thoughts? thanks ernieb

re-doing my shop and was wondering if anyone could recommend a specific material and/ or technique for a FLAT benchtop. my plywood supplier suggested 1 1/2’’ mdf or if the $$ doesn’t matter 3 layers of 3/4’’ baltic birch. the top i want to make will be 4’ x 8’ . thanks

scms dilemma - 4 replies
any thoughts out there on which scms (sliding compound miter saw ) they prefer. i’d like to hear from people who actually own the saw they are recommending. my top priorities are; accuracy/ crosscut capacity / and miter capacity. i’m a professional trim carpenter and need to rely on my saw everyday. thanks to all.
