Mom's cedar chest

Built this chest with raised panels, a tonge and grove bottom, flat panel top, and locking drawer joint at the corners. This is my first attempt at raised panels and isn’t as good as I would like, but Mom dosn’t care. Finish was clear minwax. Learned a lot for the next one! I realy like the color of the cedar with clear finish. Kind of crude but was ment as a proto type. I’ve wanted to build a cedar chest for a while, and thought I would get it out of my sytem, but now can’t wait ot start the next one! Was very lucky to have found a lot of this western red cedar very inexpensive. Left the inside unfinished for insect control.
