As of some time in 2014 – we now have a workshop! It’s a basement room in our new house in Sweden, decent lighting, a tiny window that opens to the outdoors and gets good light. The room currently has a giant plywood table in it, good for resting power tools on, which I don’t have, so I’ll be taking it out and putting in the two workbenches I’ve acquired (one with the house, one second-hand. There’s also a wall with storage in some nice cabinets, and a bunch of wood, mostly just pine offcuts.. Oh, and a disused shower and sink (would be really nice if at least the sink worked!). The room is about 3.5×3.5 metres. Looking forward to making this nice space even better!

ETA: we now have the workbenches in!

We have moved from our tiny London flat to a bigger Swedish flat, as of the start of February 2013! But much remains the same, until we get to a bigger house where a real workshop is a potential.

My “workshop” is currently a folded up workmate, some hand tools in a cardboard box, and my two power tools: a jigsaw and a drill. I no longer have to roll the baby’s buggy out of the way when I work in our tiny hallway (tile floor) or balcony (ditto). The current project (a toolbox for my daughter, being built with her) is in pieces – now in a cardboard box, no longer under the coffee table. I still don’t think a picture would be very instructive!

Welcome to Lumberjocks!
My “woodshop” started almost 5 years ago as a 2’x4’ piece of plywood clamped to the railing of my apartment. Its been growing exponentially since.
