It’s been a busy, and expensive, week. Picked up so many tools I haven’t even finished setting them all up yet, much less playing with them. The Ridgid 13” Thickness Planer R4330 was a breeze to set up. Unpacked it, attached the dust collector, and it was ready to go. The Bench Dog 40-001 router table is a fantastic piece. It came with a few pieces of nice (baltic birch?) plywood, and about 50 million screws and bolts and other doodads. It was actually fun to set up, it was more like building a model than actual work. I got Bosch 1617EVS as a dedicated router for this table. So far it seems great. Typical solid Bosch contruction. Part 3: Bench Rehab

I decided my bench was solid enough that it wasn’t worth replacing, so I put a new top and back on it. Top is 3/4” MDF with 3 coats of polyurethane, which seems to be enough that sliding a bench tool across it doesn’t dig anything up. Back is just basic pegboard with 1×3 back supports.
