Toy for 2 Year Old #3: Wood Blocks

To finish off the toy I decided to make 2 basic shapes square and round and I totally made these from scratch using 3/4” pine board, I painted them using toxic free paint that I bought at a craft store and I dipped them in shellac to give them a little finishing.

The squares ate 1 7/8” sq by 3/4” thick, I used 7/8” forstner bit on my drill press to make the holes in the pieces..The round pieces were cut using my newly purchased hole saw set and to be honest I cant believe I made it this far without possessing such a set.

Looks like you’re doing a great job. The best way to buy tools is ‘as needed’, not just because you want it.
