Hello. My name is Eddie and I have a woodworking problem. There, I admitted it. I have been working with wood since I was a kid. My Father and Grandfather were both woodworkers. I’ve gotten more serious about furniture making in the last few years. My lovely Wife thinks its a giant plot to spend money on tools. Shes right but I’ll never admit it to her. I just finished a small project using only hand tools. It was the charging station from woodworking for meer mortals. I made it out of pine. Ok, I lied. I started to reduce the 3/4 pine to 1/2 with a jack plane, but gave up and used my lunchbox planer. I had to work the next day and had to be able to lift my arms. Otherwise, all by hand. Great fun. I usually use a blended approach. I think I’m going to start a carved keepsake box today for SWMBO. Should be fun. See Ya

Hi Eddie and welcome to LJ. If you take your wife out to dinner every time you buy a pricey new tool you will both be happy and the wife will look enthusiastically forward to your next purchase. Good luck and Bon Apetite!

Well you have admitted to your addiction. That is a great start, now what are you going to do about it? Only time and money will be of the most benefit treatment for this. This of course will result in vast amounts of saw dust and wood shavings. There also will be some lost time with others
