By day (and most nights, too), I am an assistant professor of Computer Science at the State University of New York in Oswego. I moved here in the Fall of 2007. Prior to that, I spent some wonderful years in West Lafayette, IN where I was both a doctoral student and visiting professor at Purdue University. Go Boilermakers! I grew up in Philadelphia and also lived in Baltimore, MD for a number of years.
My primary woodworking interest is building furniture for my home, although I have built other pieces that were given to friends as gifts. I'm not a professional, although technically I did sell a bookcase I made at a yard saIe. :-)
I'm a great fan of the Arts and Crafts style and am embarking on the creation of a number of such pieces. These will be my most challenging projects to date, and I will be detailing their design and progress in forum posts.
In addition to the above, I also enjoy playing guitar, bicycling, and kayaking.
Thank you for visiting my profile and for the warm welcome to LJ!

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Just noticed your profile…I’m currently in Chicago but spent a couple years in the late 80’s taking CS and communications courses at SUNY Oswego. About all I remember about the school is the bitter cold winds from the lake sweeping across the campus…and the “townie” bar I spent many a night in. I gotta get back some day for another Harborfest!
Belated welcome to LJ!
