giving of the ornaments

this is the 4th year I have made Christmas tree ornaments, and given them to the elementry schools in my area. This year was one of the most gratifications I had ever recieved. The ladies in the School office insisted I go around to esch class and give them out. I got the idea from my younger Grand Kiids. These are about 3” – 6” tall, blanks, and ready for the kids to paint them as they want. each year the kids get more and more greatful for them and write me cards from each of them. This means more than any amount ot money I could recieve.
This is a most gratification I can do for our local youth. Each year it gets better and better. they Love it that I tell them that they are for them to take home for there own Ornament..
Just thought You all would like to know some of the thing I do through out the year.

I submitted A picture of our family farm house on my new projects. Many of you wanted me to go step by step on how I do my burnings. this old farm house still stands and is in use. this place is where my Father and all his brothers and sisters were born and raise. We went down there on weekends, summer vacations, or just a day to go fishing. It was given to all of the family, but over the years one Uncle purchased the place but ashured everyone that it will stay as our family homestead. It has been years sence I was down there, but looking on facebook I seen my youngest Brother and sister with there family was there. Maybe when I go down this summer I will be able to return to alot of pleasent memories.
I already have it transferred to a peice of wood and ready to start burning. As i go I will take pictures and post them. Oh and I also just received another project. this next one will be more of a challenge. Ill keep you all informed.
Sorry fpor the misunderstanding.

Well here it is, the year 2010 and we are planning our newest projects for the year. I have come out with the idea of we use each others talents to enhance our own products. All of us is better at maybe putting a certain cut, or carving out that likeness of and animal a little bit better, or routering those curves, angles or ends on a piece of wood, What ever we are just a little bit better at maybe we can help each other with that special project. I hope maybe my talent of burning that special picture on a special piece of wood can help someone out with your project. After Reading The eMag and all the response for the new project, I can help in some way. Hope to help out. Your Friend

SEASONS GREETINGS #1: MERRY CHRISTMAS

I started this a few minutes ago and my computor froze up so lets see if I can remember what I was say.
Mainly just wanted to say how fortunate and rich I was to have all the family and friends I have from here on LumberJock. I get a special feeling when I read some f the reviews and how I push myself to keep going
This past year hasnt been the best but I am still here and there is a reason for it. We start out to make projects the we can make a few dollars or for a certain reason, this year I made over 200 tree ornaments as I do every year, except this time I give everyone of them away and did’nt feel bad at all about it. Made a few more wood burnings and still have them here at home. OK but they will sell someday or be a nice gift.
Well anyway I wanted to get on here and wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
May yhis past year been the best you have ever had, and may this coming year bring you the best times, results, in everything that comes your way.
                                                                                            Happy Holidays

pyrographics #1: using each others talents

I often look over all the new projects displayed here on LumberJocks and think how lucky all of you really are to have the talent to be able to make so many and beautiful peices of ART. I have worked with wood for over 30 years now, everything from construction, finish carpenter, cabinate maker, craftsman and now wood burning. Many of you have seen many of my peices of work but several have not been posted. I have produce over 300 pictures in the last couple of years, and try and do alittle more on each one. I Love burning pictures on just about any piece of wood I can find.
I have come to the Idea of, if any of you would like to have a picture burnt on your projects, let me see what I might be able to do it. Contact me at zando321@yahoo.com. Each new project means trying to out do my last picture, anything from still life, animals, scenary, you name it, hopefully I can do it.

its an idea of we all using each other for our own talents.
Thank You
Jim Earl

On May 6, 2009, I was taken to the hospitol for chest pains and having trouble breathing. I was additted within the hour and given all kinds of test. My lungs had given out. I could not produce enough oxygen to supply my blood. I was put on oxygen that was really being forced in hard. This supplied the oxygen it took to substained my blood. Ireally dont know how they figure all that. All I know is I have to have forced oxygen on at all times now to get enough in my blood. It is truely a pure headache carrying around these tubes and tanks everywhere I go. I have gotten better and it dont take as much, but I stil have to have it. I’m coming along better than they thought but amstill looking at visiting a surgeon. Well I hope thios explains why I havent been on lately, but I will try and keep on posting. All of you have been producing some of the most beatifullest peices of work that I have seen. Keep up the fabuless work and keep o0n posting.
OH, SMOKING. I haven’t had a cigarette since May 6, 2009 and I still crave those nasty thing. I wish they had something that would take this craving away. I am on chantix and the craving is still there strong. I have smoked for over 40 years. and could kick myself for even starting. As soon as they tell me the finding on what they found in my lungs I’ll let you all know.
