no previous part Part 1 of finding a new sorce of wood series no next part

Well I new this wouldn’t last. but it was great as long as it did, What I’m talking about is my wood sorce was a friend of mine worked at a factory that received there inventory with 1/8”, 1/4” and 1/2” plywood, and so he was able to pick up truck loads of it. Believe it or not, it was really nice wood. Beautiful grain, and I coulkd actually fit the pictures to the wood. Would you believe I lost his Phone number I have been trying to get ahoad of him, to get another load or two for about 6 months, yesterday he out of the blue, I get a phone call from me to see if I was living in the same place. He said he would be over in about 15 minutes, he had something for me. He showed up with a POST PANTOGRAPH. never used one, but I do see how I could use it with what I DO. THANK YOU JOSH. H wont never take anything for what he brings me. He is really a good friend. OK any ways, he tells me there is no more wood, the company figured out how they could use it. So now I’m going to have to get out and find me another source of wood supply. I don’t count myself as cheap, but I know for a fact, that if you follow behind me, you can hear that little bird hollering, “cheap, cheap, cheap, cheap. I admit it, I try, LOL, LOL. This was something that I thought you all would get a good laugh about on me. This is one time I don’t mind. So if you have any suggestions, any would help. Thanks for your time. Jim Earl

jim . are there any cabinet shops near you? near me is a door factory that makes doors for Kraftmaid industries. and i get their rejects. they are mostly maple. already framed most of them. some with inserts of plywood. nice ply. and i use them for most of my woodburnings.

plus some lumbermills have kilns and dry some wood. check out them for maple boards, poplar also burns nice. walnut is a bit dark. sycamore also burns good. sometimes you can find a tree company that is cutting down trees and can get some slices from them. good luck..

if you have to buy your wood. get birch or maple 1/8 in ply. the grain is great on them. good luck.
