Hi. I'm a retired school teacher and enjoying life. I have survived recurring cancer since 1991. I'm now on an oral chemo and though there are side effects and I get tired, I am able to spend time getting dusty in my shop. I've always loved building things. My Dad managed a lumber yard for 35 years and I spent a lot of time at the "yard" playing and building with wood. To this day when I smell spruce I think of my Dad. Last summer I built my own shop measuring 26' X 28' in my back yard. I enjoyed every minute and continue to enjoy setting it up the way I want it. It also gave me an excuse to buy some new tools and use them a lot. OK, I'm a doubt about it. I enjoy building furniture for the house but I think my favorite building project would be clocks. I don't build the inner works but buy them at my favorite store "Lee Valley". From what I've seen of the Lumber Jocks site so far, I'm going to spend some quality time here.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Thanks for the welcome guys. It’s great to be associated with guys who also love to get dusty. Keep up the good work. When I figure out how to do it I’ll download some pics of my shop and some of my projects.
