Seriously, how can you think of wood and not recall the cartoons of Woody Woodpecker? Well, I just discovered that someone posted the original music theme with words on you tube. I couldn’t recall that the theme music even had words… but evidently it goes back to the 1950’s on Columbia 78 rpm records. Anyway, I was drifting off, and came across it… made me smile. Hopefully a few other old-timers might enjoy.

What were the names of his two nephews. Both the original and the latest?

Knothead is the latest.
The original was Nuthead. Even back in the 50’s there was PC and it got changed.

My Table saw cabinet has a pyrography of Woody on it from the 50’s maybe late 40’s.

Thanks Al, that brought back some great memories-I do remember hearing that song when I was a kid in the 50’s—I used to love those cartoons and the show itself—especially when Walter Lantz would show us kids how to draw Woody and his pals—thanks again for the memories-
