Grizzly Catalog

It came in the mail today… Grizzly catalog, all 675 pages to drool through. Good reading on a very cold winter day. I don’t know how I got on the mail list, but this is one I don’t mind.

I was just explaining to my wife how I really needed the South Bend 18×60 lathe. I showed her the $35,000 price tag.

That’s my latest ploy… show her the real expensive stuff, and then when I need a nice tool the $500 – 600 won’t sound so steep? {me thinks she’s been doing that to me for nearly 40 years} I’m looking at the 14” band saw @$450 but then they have three other 14 inchers… of course they have meat cutting and metal cutting saws… oh, the decisions one has to make.

Although I generally use the web to shop around, I’d rather thumb through a paper catalog where I can see different models side-by-side. The catalogs seem to contain more information, or maybe it is just easier and faster to find the information in the paper catalog…

Okay, catalogs aren’t “green” but I must draw the line at some things…

I suspect ‘ll be drooling that much more when I go to the Woodworker’s show this coming weekend…

Dustyal, I got mine too. Man would it be nice to just go ahead and get what you want. I have several Grizzly tools in my shop. Good products, if I may say so myself. I have removed the old covers from the past Grizzly catalogs, and hung them up around the shop.(cheep art). I look forward to puttin up the 2009 too. Good luck with the wife, and GOD BLESS

I got mine a couple of days ago. I guess they send it to their preferred customers early.

Al what day are you going to the show.

I’ll be there friday and Sat. I believe.

Wear a drool bib.

When I was younger I kept girly magazines in the bathroom. Now, I have the Grizzly catalog. I’ll sit there for 30 minutes flipping through the damn thing.

Hey! Quit hoggin’ the G Catalog! I don’t have one and wanna’ see! I need a jointer.

I have a pile of wood working catalogs and magazines. The garden and seed catalogs don’t come that often anymore since I’ve stopped buying. My husband gets the Economist.

the only problem i have with catalogs ,
is i have them from everyone ,
going back 15 years still .
if i pick up the older ones ,
i can find tools they don’t even carry anymore !

a lot of company’s dropped some items ,
when they moved to china .

AL… They have you HOOKED, LINE & SINKER. Another way to get new tools, is to talk your wife into want ing a new project. Then telling her that requires a new tool. Works for me.
