I needed a shelf above my miter saw to hold my blades, eye glasses, measuring tap, etc. My parents have always liked shadow boxes so I thought, what better way to maximize storage space in the workshop. This shadow box is assembled using rabbet joints and reinforced with cabinet screws for strength. The backing is peg board for holding saw blades and wrenches. This has been a great shelf for holding all of my cutting tools!

Installed wheels on the bottom to roll around as needed. Constructed of plywood with a pine facing. Assembled the doors using kreg jig pocket holes. Added some left over counter top material for the top. I have since found uses for this cabinet inside the house.

A week before moving I had a bunch of scraps lying around I didn’t know what to do with. Ended up putting this cabinet together. The sides and facing are oak, top and bottom shelf are maple plywood. Hung it on the wall of my new small workshop and has been great for holding my dovetail saws, glues, etc.

Oak Merlot Bedroom set

I wanted to design and build a matching bedroom set from scratch. I was going for simple and dark. A lady I use to work with had no use for some very old hardwood oak boards since her husband had recently passed away. She let me take them off her hands and I told her I would make good use out of them. I planed the boards and cut off the cracked ends and just like that the boards were brand new. I had just enough to make legs for all three pieces which was the focus around the design. The rest is made out of 3/4” veneer plywood and 1.5” trim for the doors and sides. I was looking for a little darker, but have been very happy with the turnout. I may add a hutch for the desk in the future.
