my stain appeared brown in the garage but when i brought it outdoors the stain is completely different—i find that interesting.

i tried blending in the sapwood with some dye stain

and this is the garage(looks brown to me)-sheesh

looks great .. sometime the natural light will change the appearance from what you see under normal flourescent lights

the general idea is to try and do any color matching in the same light that the piece will ultimately sit in. That being said, I still think it looks really good.
