I started woodworking in 2007 with a little help from my wife's grandfather. My first project with him was a cutting board which exposed me to the tablesaw, pipe clamps and edge laminating, miter saw, planer, bandsaw and drill press.
With many cutting boards, birdhouses and bird feeders behind me, I decided to try my hand at traditional furniture. That is what I enjoy working on now.
I have found that patience and discipline are the two most important "intangible" skills a woodworker has to learn and employ on their own.
