Harbor Freight wetstone sharpener p/n: 95236
I posted up a couple of reviews of this grinder on youtube shortly after purchase: I don’t find myself using this tool all that much, but when I need to use it the thing is very handy to have around. Depending on your definition of sharp this could be the only sharpener in your shop. I have taken chisels from the wheel to the strop and been back to work in a couple of minutes. Not as nice as a hand-honed edge, but if you are hacking mortises or rough work it is just fine. So ...
K-body clamp extenders
I picked up a set of the K-body clamp extenders a couple months back from Woodcraft. I had a table project coming up and knew that clamping the long aprons would require clamps in excess of the 50 inchers that I had. I was initially impressed by the solid construction of these. I have been using cheap and hand-me-down blades ever since I got my first tablesaw a couple years ago. Sawing has always been loud. Smoke and dust always looming in the near future for anything thicker than 1/2”. I hadn’t been too pleased with my last purchase. Go figure $10 is not going to cut too well. So I was in Lowe’s the other day. I had a $10 coupon that required me to get my total up to $50 to use. I was drawn over to the saw blades by the Ice finish on the ...
Groz #4 Bench and Block plane kit
I posted a lot of background over at my blog:Link A good user kit, but not for everyone. This is a good gateway kit into hand planes. Not as nice as the high end brands, but about 1/6th the price of them. They do require tuning. Don’t recommend them to your Uncle or a friend who doesn’t have mental capacity or tools to handle the tuning process (no offense to your Uncle).
