Thinking about my LumberJocks blog

After finishing a design for a client which involved a graphic header for his emails, I got thinking in my normally obsessive way about other graphic heads. Then I got thinking about my own emails. Then I wanted to go one step beyond what I had just finished.
So I designed an animated gif for my email header.
That was sort of fun.
Then I thought about other ways to use this sort of thing.
Naturally, I had to go to the LJ blog.
Using a header for a blog is done, not by many, but it works.
So I did what you see above.

Hunhhh.

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

Don

I like it. It adds a little extra to emails and blogs.

Hi
I agree with Dennis about the picture. It doesn’t help.
I disagree with him about the word blog, it is fine for that to be different.
You have to much space on the left side. Fix those and it will be great.
I have worked as a business consultant and a marketing advisor for many years, that is why i’m offering my two cents.
Best of luck.

Don, you are a technical wizard! I can just see you at home with your computer designing all sorts of projects and web headers. You’re a very active fellow.

David,
I first make each graphic element a separate entity, working with CorelDraw Suite. Then I export each step in the action as a GIF. After all the steps are saved I use Microsoft Gif Animator to convert all the GIFs into one GIF Animation.
To make it easy to use in the blog, I send the GIF animation to my web page.
Then when I go to LJs Blogs area, the first thing I do is import the GIF animation as a graphic at the head of the page.
Sounds complicated when I write it out, but really, it doesn’t take me long.
