My workshop is simple and humble. I’m not complaining mind you – after working out of my garage for over a decade and before that not having a place for one at all.

The shop is in a room of our barn – about 15 by 20. Concrete floor and insulated walls – otherwise not protected much from the elements.

All told I have:

1) 10” Rigid table saw
2) Bosch re-con router with homemade router table
3) Two work benches made largely from materials a wind turbine was shipped in
3) A bench grinder mounted on a homemade table
3) The usual assortment of drill, sanders of various sorts, circular saw, cordless recip, 3 OLD pipe clamps, etc.

My wishlist:

Planer
Jointer/Planer
Biscuit joiner
a hundred bar clamps :)
real doors for the shop and heater

Hey, I just looked at your workshop Jim. Jeez am I jealous. That’s the kind of shop – with all the tools of course – I’d love to have. Maybe by the time I retire…...

Hey Doc. Just saying hello to a fellow mid-westerner! I have a humble shoop as well, but it’s amazing what you can get done with just a little bit of moxy and almost no money.

Hey, Squinty! Thanks for the hello. The more I hang around this site, the more I learn that most folks are like us – humble digs but with delusions of grandeur….... Just got back from spring break trip. Get back with you later.

Have your say...
