no previous part Part 1 of Tool Gloat series no next part

I saw an add for some older band saws advertised on Craig’s list. A millwork shop had upgraded to an 18” band saw and they had 2 14” saws they were selling. They had listed a Powermatic and a Delta. When I got there this afternoon, someone had already purchased the Powermatic. However, I discovered that the Delta was an older Delta that is in very good condition. It is a 1 HP with enclosed base. Runs smooth. It needs a little bit of tuning and cleaning, but otherwise in very good condition. It even has a sharp blade. Best part, I only paid $250 for it. I pick it up on Friday and will post pictures then.

I recently bought an old Rockwell Delta 14” bandsaw. Paid a fair amount for it but it was sweet, new guide blocks, tyres, bearings etc. In fact it cost me more than a new Chinese job but I am totally in love with it. I particularly like the way the bottom guide blocks and bearing adjust. Best bandsaw I ever owned!

Last month I bought a Rockwell Delta 14” Bandsaw for $100.00 off craigslist and the only thing wrong with it was the upper wheel adjustment nut was stripped so .79 later I have this great saw.
