backyard deck #2: a few railings attached

« Part 1: floor done---working on railings Part 2 of backyard deck series no next part

I decided to wrap the 4×4 posts with 1×6s above the deck. It looks cool and makes the posts and railing super rigid. This gives it no room to move in any direction. I notched out for the railing and the horizontal spindles as you can probably see in the pics.

Ran out of Titebond II so I quit for the day. Need to buy some to make some more railings.

Good looking safety rail Derek, are there any screws in it?

o yes I predrill and toe-screw the spindles too.

I’m doing a deck right now my self and I’m down to the railing my design unfortunatley is not as nice as you’rs but will serves the same purpose. I’ll just be glad when it’s done, my knees hurt…...........Schloemoe
