This is a bandsaw box that I made for the mom for Mothers Day this last year. Walnut and Poplar.
BTW, Just made this account after a year of looking and drooling over all your projects. Great source of inspiration.

Bandsaw box that I made for my stepmom for Mother’s Day 2011. Not sure what the wood is. Just something i had laying around the shop.

Bandsaw box for the mother in law, Mothers Day 2011. Made of cedar. Learned a lot from this one. I made the top very thin due to my bandsaw table being out of level and excessive sanding. I then proceeded to spray some water on top to raise the grain and continue sanding. The water really weakened the wood and I wound up cracking the top. Had to do some intricate glueing and careful clamping to save the project. Worked out well and nobody was the wiser. Lessons learned.

Thanks Max, surfin2, and a1Jim. I just figured out how to post these as a project. Thanks for the welcome and the tips. Sooner or later I’ll get this site figured out. For the last year i’ve just been scanning over all the projects.
