There is nothing like the smell of sawdust with my coffee in the morning!

I've been working with wood for about 30 years, and also have a degree in drafting and design. After 20 years in the auto industry, I set my sights on what really thrills me. Starting with kitchen & bath remodels, moving on to cabinets, fireplace mantels, furniture and custom stair cases and rails.
Currently I install custom stair cases and rails pretty much full time work for a stair guy that has been doing stairs for over 30 years. He gets the jobs noone else wants because the builder wants curved built up stair cases and rails. Most of my work is a full cover stair case which is putting fake stringers on the rough stair case then adding full treads and risers posts and rails in whatever species the owners want so I get to work with a lot of different woods.
Eventually my goal is to pretty much get out of the stair business and just do custom work and built-ins for the builders that I meet doing stairs. I'm getting tired of unloading and loading up my tools everyday. A couple of days here and there would be fine and the rest in my shop would be wonderful. Time will tell.

Take care and God Bless.

Rich

Well done Rich:

I am a fool for any jig for my routers. I am especially interested in yours.
I am excited about your mortising jig.
If you don’t mind I am going to use a few of your ideas,
Keep those ideas coming, and best of everything to you and yours.
