A laser level for woodworking and more

A laser level for woodworking and more

This is a review for one of my favorite levels that I use for some of my woodworking endeavors. I have many levels. I own about every type level made except for a Libella and I’ve been wanting to build a few of those to sell to some friends for their offices but haven’t gotten around to it. This level is the Stanley model 77-153 cross line level. It is an indoor use level that I find quite handy for cabinet setting, interior trim, general layout, and even tool setup in the shop so...

Hilti hammer drill / with 1/2" keyed detachable chuck

Hilti hammer drill / with 1/2" keyed detachable chuck

This is a review for a drill that I’ve been using for a few years now. I will not do reviews on tools that I have not owned or new tools that I haven’t put through some serious use. I had second thoughts about posting this review, Hilti wasn’t even listed in the tools that have been reviewd in this forum. This is a review about a level I’ve been using for the last 15 years or so. The manufacture, called PlumbIt makes several models of aluminum levels that are capable of extending from about four feet to nearly twenty two feet in lentgh. The model I have, closed measures 63” and will extend to 13’ 10”. These are some pretty unique levels because the length of the level can be set anywhere within their operating range with just a sqeeze of the handle. This makes this a l...

Here is a book that no shop should be without. It’s called Workshop Math by Robert Scharff. I stumbled across this book years ago and have lost count of the number of copies I bought and given to my friends. This book is almost has important in the shop has fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and safety galsses. It’s a book that has been a benefit to me many times. It is not a woodworking book although it does contain some rather detailed explanations about carpentry and instrumen...

Old Reliable

Old Reliable

This review is for a saw that I’ve been using almost daily for a little over four years now. I purchased the DW718 after using the DW708 for over nine years. Out of the box I noticed that the base had grown a bit, but still had 110 degrees of miter settings and the same simple to adjust detent plate. I found this to be a plus after witnessing what some of my peers experienced while reclibrating some of the other manufactures mitersaws. From my experience the only time I’ve had an...
