I enjoy building items for the shop. The wood is cheaper, it doesn’t have to be perfect and the projects are useful afterwards. The miter station and table saw cabinet are my most recent projects.
My workbench was one of my first projects several years ago. 28” x 6’ with a base made of 2’x4’s The table is three side-by-side 2’ x 10’ topped with a thin sheet of oak that was in my garage when I bought the house. It has a little, cheapo vise that works for most things. The workbench isn’t the sturdiest, held together by 6” screws and bolts, so I store my cinder block and another concrete block (under the newspapers) to help. The concrete pieces work as clamps, too. Perfect size for me.
I’ve been toying with the idea of building a new one using an old teacher’s desk I have as a base.

Dawn, these are a couple of nice additions to your shop. Building shop furniture is a great way to gain practical woodworking experience that is also fun to do as well. The miter saw station looks like it has a lot of useful features such as its portability and support for long boards/molding. I am sure with the successes of these two projects there will be more additions to your shop.
