Part 1: Let the work begin, off to a slow start.

From my last blog post, my wife and I were sharing a position at 2 churches which were partnered together. One of the two started a process to terminate our employment so we resigned to avoid all the hassles that would have followed. The other church, which wasn’t involved or kept informed of what was happening is offering which ever of us can stay the solo position which would be half time. My wife and I were the last of three pastors to hold the position that this church could stand a...

Part 2: Off to a slower start then I expected; but progress and materials.

So where I last left off was here Turns out I made a bit of a stupid mistake; I measured the door frame and added 3” for the jack studs and another 1/2” for shim space, only then did I decide that I should substitute the good section of a wall stud that I pulled out due to the bottom foot being rotted. My wife, Marjory, decided to lend a hand for a couple hours. This is the south wall we’re starting on. This is the outside view; the covered window on the right side was covered way back and is behind the cabinets. It was poorly filled in and about a dozen assorted bird skeletons were pulled out of it. The othe...

Part 5: Why I have been too busy to be on here. Obviously, more results.

Between losing part of a job, a toddler, a at the time 8 month old and having to move twice life has been too hectic to be on here. Not to mention the 7 months it took to get DSL, 4 of the 5 telephone poles that surround our house has service going to them but the one that feeds power to our house didn’t. On top of that there are a limited number of available spots on the service to keep it from being too slow out here. But now that things have stabilized, I once again have a shop space...
