Have been thinking for some time to try my hand at a sushi board.. was in town today and picked up some small dishes… suitable for dipping sauce… so I have laminated a strip of Purple Heart between some boards of Queensland Maple…[ not a true maple… it is a flindersia not an acer] Any way waiting for the glue to dry again… No pics yet.. so stay tuned.. -- Drink twice... and don't bother to cut... @ larrysworkshop.wordpress.com For lovers of all things timber... Cirlce cutting jig for the bandsaw and circle sanding jig for the 12" disc sander

While not a connoisseur of fine sushi, I know what I like. Looking forward to seeing a “meal”.

why not turn the little bowls? How about bamboo? I know it is used in floors a lot here…so I am guessing it would stand up pretty well as a sushi/cutting board but I will leave that up to the cutting board expert…

Just don’t get caught referring to raw fish as sushi. The word “Sushi” refers to the rice.
