Well, after being excited, then not, then excited, then not, and then excited, and then not, for the past 3 weeks, today I was told that a check is in the mail for the deposit money for the Custom Steak Knife sets I will be making.
So, I’m officially at “excited” again.
I posted a few days ago about the knife/scrimshaw samples being sent here: http://lumberjocks.com/jocks/decoustudio/blog/2470
Now, I just wanted to follow up, and post that I did get the order today.
This will be a fancy set of 18 knives, and another fancy set of 12 knives.
I’ll take lots of photos, and post the completion when they are all finished.
I waited 3 weeks for the order, but the deadline is still the same….....so I’m signing off for a few weeks until I am finished with my work.
I did enough writing this weekend to wear my fingers and bottom out for a few weeks anyway.
Thanks fellow LJ’ers for the encouragement and comments,
Mark DeCou

Give it a couple of weeks and then “not” will set in again… And then You’ll be excited again when the rest of the payment comes in and then “not” when you realize that all the money is getting spent on some stupid bill like your phone or your electricity…
Ahhhh, such is the life of a Lumberjock.

That’s cool, Mark. I was buying some wood from a guy and when I asked him who I make the check out to, he said, “Revenue Canada.” (Our version of the IRS…actually you make the check out to the Receiver General, but you get the point…there I go again…complete and accurate information kills the joke.)

Can’t wait to see the posts about your progress. Please include information about the scrimshaw. Also, the link in this blog entry leads to a dead end…
