Help on a router bit style. - 6 replies I’m making new drawers and raised panel doors for my sisters kitchen cabinets. The style of the edge you see in the picture above is what I have on the commercial cabinets in my house. She likes them. I’m relatively new to this. I’ve made a few raised panel doors so I know I can do it but I have never made this edge. I̵... |

workshop posting requirement - 32 replies I hope the title got your attention. This comment is sort of tongue and cheek. More a wish than a recommendation. Everyone should post some picts of their workshop after awhile here. Many have but many haven’t. I’m a sort of workshop voyeur, addict, junkie, brat.. whatever. I’ve looked at them all and I need more. Most a... |

Finishing... filler and poly question - 6 replies We’ve just completed sanding the fronts and sides of some older oak cabinets. They had a dark stain on them and varnish. All of it has come of. Nothing left but bare wood. What a job! The owner wants to refinish them natural. Doesn’t care if using water or oil based natural poly. We want to apply wood filler to the grain. The only... |

Martin's home in Slovakia - 7 replies I just thought I’d look up where Martin (owner/producer of lumberjocks for those who might not know) lives. Slovakia is a pretty neat place. Here’s a wikipedia link to info about it. The interesting stuff occurs about halfway down the page when it tells about politics, industry, infrastructure, and it’s people. http://en.wi... |

Mirka Abranet Sandpaper and Bosch sander (advice) - 10 replies I have a Bosch B0S20VSK sander. I ordered two sanders.. both worked great with the 80 grit paper supplied. I ordered some Mirka Abranet sandpaper. It lasts forever. Highly recommended. After using it for a few minutes the sander pad would no longer hold on any sandpaper, no matter what brand. I found out the reason. Using a microscope I... |

How do you sign your work? - 29 replies There is an old forum topic on this subject, but it is out of date now as some links to a product to sign work by having a medallion for inlay isn’t valid any longer. The medallion inlay idea is nice though. I have found several places online that make small thin brass plaques. Some are self sticking, some are not. I’ve had some ... |

Laser life on a miter saw - 1 reply This is a question to get an idea if it’s worth replacing batteries again or if something is wrong. I have one of those laser line indicators on my Bosch 12” sliding compound miter saw. It mounts on the armature of the saw right next to the blade. I kind of like it. It is a nice feature. The unit came with three button batteries i... |

profiles page user website address - 1 reply Hey, My website address isn’t that long but the profiles page limits you to a shorter address. You can paste it in and it looks ok but when you view it, it’s truncated and if you click on it, it won’t work. We need a few more character lengths. Maybe there’s a workaround I don’t know about. Anyone have any ideas?... |

resawing/drying - 16 replies My sister has 8 acres of land. The other day I mentioned that I really like to build stuff but the wood was so expensive. She said, “if you cull it carefully you can have some of mine”. Well, that got me thinking. So, the short story is that I’m going to build a sawing rig like I’ve seen online. I’m a welder so i... |

Air Random orbital sander - 4 replies I’ve only had a stationary belt sander. I usually hand sand and use hand scrapers But sometimes I think I could use a sander. I’ve got lots of air, 60 gal. tank and 5hp compressor. And I like air tools. Does anyone have any experience with a pneumatic random orbital sander? If so, recommend a brand or features? Thanks in advance. |

Glass scrapers? - 2 replies Does anyone use glass as scrapers? Years ago I used to rummage through the scrap bin at the local glass place and get pieces to bring home. One edge of the glass was always razor sharp and did a super job scraping. When it dulled I’d throw it away and get another piece. The glass is hard though and stayed sharp a long time. The finish was ... |
