My daughter, is obtaining her post doctorate in Boston, has a small apartment with a room she lives out of. Her request, a sort of coffee table with second function as ‘sit on the floor’ desk. Also, something she can kick around and as she changes apartments sometimes, something she can move easily and even leave behind if the move is long distance.I love making furniture and I’ve made my share of higher end stuff, but I've made a few things out of home depot framing lumber ...

Part 2: Afternoon 2: Shaping and assembly

This was a simple coffee table with drawer made with about $20 in materials and spanning three afternoons. My daughter wanted something that she could move easily from apartments and maybe even leave behind when she finishes her post docterate in boston. She is a research fellow at Beth Israel Hospital This afternoon, I cut out the legs, planed and rough sanded everything, Routed ogees on edges, assembled the legs to the table and installed the drawer with the drawer slides.
