no previous part Part 1 of Bench build series no next part

I decided after looking around that I needed a new workbench. Mine was old and inadequate, dating back to 1976. A lot of nice benches have been built here. Some actually beautiful as well as functional. But, my attention keeps coming back to Fine Woodworking’s New-Fangled workbench. It just seems to be a design that is smart. Armed with just a few pages of write-up about it, that includes an exploded view and a couple of video demo’s of it I decided to make one. I am just about finished and am putting together an annotated slideshow of the complete assembly. It is just a few days from completion. I’ll be posting this project soon. This was a very satisfying build. Actually, besides some shop cabinets and such, my first one. I am disgustingly pleased with myself. Here’s the first slideshow picture… more to come.

It’s done!

Congratulations, Daniel! I’ll be checking out your future posts so I can compare notes. For the lack of heavy material in the bench, I’ve found mine pretty sturdy.

I too built one of these benches and always happy to see other take on the build as well. I hope you enjoy the multi-use of this bench. Good luck Blkcherry
