More progress on my daughters bridal chest. Not too much left to do.

The skirt boards cut, glued, and clamped in place. A cove molding will be mounted on the top of it later.

Next will be to mount the top with a piano hinge.

Dan, That is looking just excellent. Love the skirt boards, the joinery, and the great hide for the cedar/maple interface. An heirloom in the making. Is this the same daughter who got the cool lighted bed?

Yes gfadvm… same daughter. They won’t match but I suddenly fell in love with this simple chest design. I mean I’ve made others but they’re way different.

She’s a lucky girl. Hope she’s more appreciative than my daughters.

I’ve got two great girls. They grew up knowing that they had to be happy and successful so their parents could die in peace. They still like visiting home even though their 2 and 4 hrs away in boston and NY. Blessed.

Dan, really nice work. My two live on the left coast in North CA. Makes furniture delivery complicated, but they do Appreciate what I’ve made for them and the grand kids. Also I need to check the Borg for some cedar for my wife’s six board. Thanks for the tip.
