History: This is about the making of a trestle table for someone out of framing lumber (spruce) designing it on the fly.
The past couple of afternoons I produced a couple of benches to go with the trestle table I made in previous installments of this blog. Here they are pretty much finished.
When everything is finished off and sitting in a kitchen I’ll get a picture and post it as a finished project.
I’ve made a lot of stuff but it’s kind of fun just cutting wood and thinking of how you want it to be as you’re handling the wood in the shop. It’s sort of; decide and cut, decide and cut, then assemble it hoping that it looks like what’s in your head in the end. That said, afterwards you see what you might have done differently. I think I might have thinned the feet out a bit and maybe cut an upward curve in the brace that goes across from leg to leg. Awe well….
