finishing hollow vessals - 3 replies
how much of the inside of a hollow vessal dose one sand and finish? on a deep vessal do you lumber jocks have a tool you use ? i usually finish mine about the first three inches of the inside .i’m not talking about shallow turnings such as bowls.

i’m trying to hollow out an end grain vase but everytime i touch the end grain my turning tool just flies off to one side and gouges the work.i’m at a slow speed likesix or seven hundred r.p.m. what tool should i use and what speed?i have the same problem on the side of bowles when cut from long grain.
