The wife wanted to spend 3-4 hundred buck on a simple desk from pier one. I convinced her I could make a better one and be finished by the end of August, when the kids start school. Well I missed the deadline by a couple weeks, but The project turned out great.
The base cabinets are oak 3/4 plywood stained with minwax ebony. 2 coats. and put together with mostly pocket screws.
The top is walnut plywood with walnut veneer edgeing. A friend cut that out for me on a cnc mahine. It was two parts with a seem going down the middle.

I made these to solve my problem of not having a way to router the entire edge of a project. I used 3/4 plywood and some of that grippie rubber matting. (stole it from my wife’s utensil drawer) Sprayed the quick dry contact cement and stuck the mat to both sides. Save me ten or so bucks.
