long time dabbler, fairly new to actual woodworking. i have built sheds, fences, most things that incorporate 2x4s. projects where an 1/8 of an inch was good enough. i got seduced into thinking I could build a mission style quilt rack for my wife. the ones i found in stores were flimzy. i bought a plan and got started after much procrastination. the quilt rack went together pretty well, but i wanted to commit suicide about midway through the finishing process. i used a gel stain and let it set up. it was a pain to apply to all those littles nooks and crannies. now i'm on a mission to build and equip a garage workshop (on a budget). i want to start a blog to show the progress. i love to look at other woodworkers workshops, their ingenuity and creativity is inspiring. if you know of a website of a fellow woodworker showing their shop, please let me know.

Hello David,

Welcome to LJs. I am sure that you will find this to be an exciting and rewarding part of your woodworking experience.

-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

Howdy David, Good to see a fellow Texan here, and one that’s pretty close by! Grew up south of Houston, still down there often to see the folks and friends, even do a job or two down that way. This is a GREAT place, but really addictive also but in a good way.
