My shop consists of 1/2 of my two car garage (attached to my townhome) I live in a two story townhome with an attached garage and no basement. I do not own the land my home is on, therefore, cannot build a shop outside. So, instead I no longer park in the garage (but make sure its clean enough so the wife can!) in order to tinker with my new obsession. I don’t have many tools, but am working on acquiring some in order to create some of the master pieces similar to those shown on this site. I have received a few hand me down tools from my older brother (Dewalt cordless drill) as well as my dad (Craftsman router/table – that I have yet to use, but am excited to try out) and made my first significant purchase on my new Ryobi 10” compound sliding miter saw as well as the Kreg Jig to drill pocket holes. I also have a bunch of little odds and ends that I purchased off Harbor Freight because I don’t have the extra disposable funds to accommodate the bigger brand items. I am looking into an entry level table saw to add to my collection so I don’t have to rely on Home Depot to rip my ply and lumber for me, but that may be a bit down the road.
My wife and I work pretty much opposite schedules so I try to sneak some time in the garage during the day while my daughter is taking a nap so I can spend the little bit of time we have at home together. I have found that I am not very good when it comes designing my own projects (not a very creative person), but discovered that I am able to follow directions well from a few of the builds I have made off of plans I’ve purchased via the web or through fellow woodworkers on sites similar to LJ. By viewing pictures of all of your work I am slowly learning the inner workings on how pieces come together so that maybe one day I can create a piece that is truly my own doing.
Some of the above info should probably be placed on my profile page, but oh well.
I will try and get some pictures of my “shop” up as soon as possible, thanks for looking!

- New entertainment stand to replace store bought furniture in my living room
- I have a ton more, but they are still in the “approval process” by the wife, lol!
