I started woodworking about 5 years ago after buying my 1st house and finally having a garage that I could use as a workspace and store tools. I'm completely self taught and started with 2nd hand (or 3rd or 4th hand) tools... making a lot of mistakes building fixtures, garage cabinets, and toys for the kids. I've started venturing into some more challenging projects and have posted a few here. I'm probably your, typical weekend woodworker. Never enough time or space to really accomplish the things I want to..though do, on occasion, get a break from work and kid duty to dig into a project.
I've found I have a huge passion for every part of the woodworking process (except maybe finish work :)). I love design and typically use Sketchup or ACAD. My tools and skills have slowly improved with every project and it's been an exciting and rewarding process!
I've been amazed at the the incredible community of woodworkers wherever I find them, and am excited to have been pointed to this website.
