I thought folks might be interested in seeing the steps that I take to make a Maloof style rocker. Perhaps after seeing how it isn’t really all that difficult to make one it might give encouragement to try and make one yourselves.These steps are for a mahogany rocker that I’ve finished.Started with quite a large slab of mahogany. This photo is after cutting 4 ft. from 1 end.

Well, I am in Salt Lake city and in the morning I fly home. I got on the net here at my hotel so I figured I would post my pice from my last day. I was able to start to fit my rails to the legs and do a bit of sculpting. I still have many hours of work to do when I get home before my chair is a chair, but you can see from the pics how far I got in a week.

I’ll be covering the construction of two different kinds of curved doors. A pair of raised panel doors with one inch thick styles and rails and a 3/4 thick panel. With an outside radius of 20” and an inside radius of 19”. The second is a single six divided light glass door. Its style and rails are also 1” thick, its outside radius is 12 1/4” and the inside 11 1/4”.
