I got into this hobby in a round-about way when my brother got our kids a slot-car racing set for Christmas. Knowing it wouldn't last 2 weeks on the floor in our basement, I set out to build a strong, light-weight table for it. That project gave me the woodworking bug and I've been hooked ever since.
I started my career in Mechanical Engineering and even though I don't practice it anymore this hobby satisfies my need to design, create, and improve. Wandering around this site for the past few years has really kick-started my woodworking education and inspired me.
Thanks for stopping in.

I finally saved up enough to buy a cabinet saw that can handle everything I’ll be able to throw at it for many years to come. My old Ridgid TS2410LS is a great saw, but it doesn’t have the cutting capacity for big jobs, it’s dus...
I do my woodworking in the garage and when I started it only had a single 15 amp 110 volt circuit, two light bulbs, and garage doors that were low enough that I bumped into them constantly whenever I moved boards around. Most of us have been th...
For me, this is a fun part of the project because it’s when things really start to come together. I didn’t get any photos when I built the top but I basically glued together two sheets of MDF and added some laminate countertop from ...
