« Part 1: Unique Entertaiment Center Part 2 of Unique Entertainment Center series no next part

Man its been a long time since my first post so I will try to catch you up on my progress.

I have been plaining a lot of cherry wood at the start of the project. I filled up three 55 gallon drums of shavings!

I extended the feed area and the out area of the plainer with 2X4’s and positioned the plainer at the double doors that open into the garage to accommodate the board lengths. Sure glad I thought if using double doors!

Lots of boards to be glued up!

Again using the garage (my side that has never seen a vehicle in it). LOL

Had to get quite creative to clamp the end pieces on the top!

Sure could have used some 10’ clamps this time!

Tons of sanding!

Pre assembly of the basic frame to see that it all fits together:

Then clean/clear the front room area and move the frame in to get the wall contour using cardboard:
Once the cabinet top matches the wall contour I will linseed oil it and prep for a clear top coat.

What a beauty!

Just completed one of these but in the reverse. My wall was flat and Mimi wanted the front curved. I totally relate to the sanding thing. I used my card scrapers (for the first real project) to help even out the joints- that really saved on the sand paper.
