« Part 4: Candy Dishes Part 5 of Work in Progress series no next part

I’ve got a couple of segmented hollow vessels in the works right now. One that i’m working on I’m finishing in blue. I picked up a tube of the indigo Minwax Color Express a while back and thought I’d finially try it out. After a single coat of the indigo, I then applied six (I think) coats of tung oil to get the glossy look.

I still need to finish turning this piece, but I figured I would do a little experimenting before I was really ready to apply the final finish.

thoughts?

Brilliant color selection. Look forward to seeing the completed piece.

It is very nice as it is now. But, if you liked, I’d suggest to bore a 30mm daimeter hole and reblock it by a yellow piece of timber, and darken the bottom third of it to make it look like sea and sky and full moon. Just another thought.

Your hollow forms are starting to look somewhat like TriFern’s. ;-)
