I just picked up a 2 1/4 hp Porter Cable router from HD. It was on clearance for 99 but since the only one they had left was the display I got it for $50.00! Pics to prove it. I have a 690 and am wondering if I should sell it. I dont really need two routers for a small shop. How much should I sell the 690 for?

Nice catch!
I would keep it. You really can’t have too many routers.

I agree with ChuckC! I always recommend a second router. Even with a small shop, you can always use a router table setup and a second router so you do not have to take your router table apart.

How much are you going to ask. I just picked up a Porter Cable 4212 dovetail jig and could use another router.

I agree with ChuckC. Yoy didn’t mention if you had a router table or not but if you do then I most definately wouldn’t sell the spare. Besides, you never know when you might need a back-up. Plus, with only having $50 tied up, that’s a cheap spare. Just my thoughts.

You do realize that if you sell it your 50.00 router will kick soon thereafter.

For fifty dollars a 2nd router is great. I have three routers that get quite a bit use. Even a very small shop can afford the space for two routers. Keep both!

Bummer, I just got the last one at my HD and it was the display so I got no manual, the 1/4 collet was missing and there was no chuck wrench, but I still had to pay $99.00. I think I’ll go rout some concrete with it and return it under their 30 day return policy.

I would not sell your other router either.

Only problem with keeping the both of them is that they WILL mate and have babies. I promise.
