Started working with wood about September of 2012, after getting laid off. One of my wife's friends suggested I try making wooden toys. Been at it since, managed to sell a few pieces, expanded into holiday decorations, gift boxes and knick-knack sort of things.
My shop is rather cobbled together in my garage, so it's a little crowded. I have a bandsaw inherited from my father, an oscillating belt/spindle sander I was given by a friend, while another friend gave me a dremel 16" scroll saw. I have since upgraded to an Excaliber 21" scroll saw, but that's another story!!) I already had a delta contractors 10" table saw and 10" chop saw as well as a bench top drill press.
I picked up and old Atlas wood lathe for 50 bucks, just have to find time to learn how to sharpen tools so I can learn to use the lathe!!
