24 posts in 1969 days Location: San Francisco Bay Area I have been woodworking 30 years, starting in Junior High School. I started out with powertools, primarily a Craftsmen Table Saw, followed by a Unisaw, followed by a Combination Machine. I am now focused more on hand skills, having spent two summers at the College of the Redwoods making my own handplanes, chisels, and knives, as well as some furniture. I have also spent some time learning Japanese joinery under the able skills of Jay Van Arsdale. I am now diverting my attention to furniture and toys for my three and 1/2 year old daughter, which has put a big smile on my face and a dent in my woodworking time.
