Today we are creating bandings from scratch. We’ve got some ideas for the wood inlay designs so we are ripping on the table saw, sanding on the drum sander, and gluing. At some point we will cut banding segments on the dedicated miter saw and then gluing some more. Plus we will be doing a bit of video shoots for the next release. Feel free to stop by.

Hey Bob…

It says “Off Air” .... shows a slide show… Is that correct?

A bunch of NICE bowls!

Thank you…

Love doing this, look forward to seeing a video with condensed info on the how to.
This is a great example of a how to inlay fab:

Bob, are you using Martin’s new feature with hosting the pics right here on LJ rather than hosting somewhere else? I can’t see them. I know photobucket gets blocked in a lot of places (like here at work). :) Just a thought.

Interested in your work…

Hi Bob,

A little while after your response, I tried it again…

I saw a video where you were sorting out a bunch of little pieces of probably wood… that’s all you did… and eventually, it showed you getting to the camera tilting it and turning it off…

Then, it seemed to go back to “Off Air” as it is now…

Did you goof & upload the wrong file or something?

Rance…I’ll have to try Martin’s new feature. Thanks for reminding me. I was just trying out some technology and working in the shop preparing bandings for inlay.
................Thanks for your interest!

Joe…The bunch of little pieces that you saw are segments for bandings. There’s a lot of them. It’s just part of the process of making shop-made bandings. If you see me live in the shop then you’ll see me working on the fly. (no video production here as everything is raw and unedited.) Just a live stream.

OK, Bob, I understand… that’s good to know… it appeared that you edited each video before posting with fade-outs.. skip forwards, etc.

Why is it “Off Air” now?

I guess the purpose of the video was to show us the sorting process after a the first Cutting process… (??)

Thank you for your hard work.. I look forward to your videos..

Joe…I was just in the shop cutting a bunch of the segments on the miter sled. I plan on making quite a few wood inlay bandings as the holidays will be here shortly. I may go into production mode on the miter sled and make picture frames with the inlay and maybe a jewelry box with inlay.

The videos that you saw were not edited by me. I just used it for the live stream. I thought some people may be interested in the simplicity of the segments being cut with the miter sled as it is very accurate as well as very easy to duplicate.

Thanks for your support Joe…very much appreciated!
