Proud Father,Married.Been a remodeler for 20 years and getting to old for the "field work" Starting to realize how much i don't know about fine woodworking.Thats why i am here.
Charles Neil "intheworkshopofcharlesneil" What an inspiration to me.
I currently work in the fire protection industry working with fire alarms and chemical suppression systems.
Had my own buisness for years remodeling yet i needed a steady paycheck so now woodworking is part time and actually more rewarding being able to pick and choose projects.
Spend alot more time with the family and have more time and money to purchase new tools.
Every tool i own is portable and fits in a 8'x13' trailer and the workshop is climate controlled depending on the climate ! At least in louisiana it is not cold much just work stops when it's raining.
Hope to have a shop soon just gotta finish a few more honey do's.
Work everywhere but on my own place...you know the saying...a woodworkers house is falling apart.
Choose cypress wood because here it is cheap and plentafull, just like pine without the sap !
Ron

Seeing all that beautiful cypress, my first thought was that you must be from Louisiana. Howdy, neighbor… I’m in Metairie.

Hello Cypresswoodworker,
You cypress projects look very good. I especially like the pecky cypress. Pecky cypress and siinker cypress both have a unique quality and appearance.
It’s good to know other woodworkers are in the neignborhood.
