I am new to wood working and the equipment need to do a good job working with wood. My first meaningful wood working project was to make steps for the grandchildren to climb in their beds and to be able to reach the lavatory in the bathroom to wash their hands.

The project that has sparked my interest in wood working was a table I made from rough cut cypress for a Big Green Egg. This project was completed with a belt sander, random orbital sander, table saw, skill saw, jig saw and a Kreg jig in 2 weeks.

Of course having gone through sizing, assembly and finishing with those tools in rough cut lumber, makes one look for better ways to accomplish the task needed.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
