In Home Depot. They had a 4×8 3/4” melamine sheet with a 2” chip on one side. 75% off so I got it. Made a crosscut sled for the TS and a circle cutting jig for the bandsaw. Both turned out well. Tried out the circle cutter. Sweet. Really good day today. Still have most of the sheet left. Small victories. But they are victories just the same. Icing on the cake – I had bought a CMT blade for the TS a while back. Put it on and WOW. I swear the saw is quieter now on top of cutting better.

Yesterday I was cutting a rabbet on the side of a panel that was going to be in a raised panel door. I didn’t double check my depth stop from after making the practice piece a few days earlier. By the time I was done, the material that was left was only about 1/8” thick, instead of 1/4” like I intended. I broke it off, but as it turned out, I had 2 scrap pieces of red oak (panel was Poplar) that were 1/4” thick, and 1 1/2” wide. So I cut another 1” wide, 1/4” deep rabbet on the back of the panel on each side, and then glued the red oak in those rabbets, and planed the width to fit the door frame. The back looks a little funky, but hey, it’s a shop piece, so I’ll get over it :-)
I guess you would say that my small victory was that I was able to fix the mistake with out having to remake the panel. And I even used a few scraps on the way :-)

I guess my small victory is I went in for surgery for a brain tumor on 13 July and they found it was only a bone splinter about 2”x3/8”. The rest of the info is in Off Topics

I’d say that’s a little more than small Arlin. I’d call that a life changing victory.

That’s a win Chris’s.
And I’d hate to wake up any other way Randy.
I have my fair share of defeats in the shop so pretty much anything short of disaster is a victory for me.

I woke up this morning. To me, every day I don’t wake up dead is a victory.
Plan ahead like you were immortal but live like you were to die tonight. Recipe for a good life.
